I also tried to document how date palms produce dates. I really wasn't sure how that would look. So this first photo shows the yellow/beige structures that bear the fruit (I originally thought they were flowers). Some cursory research on the internet indicates that the flowering occurs in the winter (January) - I guess I missed it.
